2019 Volkswagen Atlas: The 2019 Volkswagen Atlas is a 5- or 8-seat car that's only available as a 4-door wagon. Front- and all-wheel-drive models are offered. Competitors include the Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot. For 2019, it sees the addition of new high-tech safety features.
There are two different engines offered: A 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 235 horsepower and a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 276 horsepower. Both pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 17 mpg city to 26 mpg highway.
There are seven trims available: S, SE, SE w Technology, SE w Technology R-Line, SEL, SEL R-Line and SEL Premium. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, leather seating, heated and ventilated seats, power moonroof, keyless access, push-button start, navigation and a premium audio system. Safety features include forward-collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, park assist and post-collision braking system.
New features for 2019 include front assist, blind spot monitor and rear traffic alert standard on all trims.
