2019 Subaru Forester: The 2019 Forester is a 5-seat car that’s only available as a 4-door wagon. Only all-wheel-drive models are offered. Competitors include the Ford Escape and Honda CR-V. Completely redesigned for 2019, the Forester offers a more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, Subaru's EyeSight safety system standard and increased passenger and cargo space.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine has been discontinued. The remaining engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that makes 182 horsepower and pairs to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 26 mpg city to 33 mpg highway.
There are five different trims: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited and Touring. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, navigation and leather seats. Safety features include automatic braking, frontal collision alert, lane departure alert, blind-spot alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist and reverse automatic braking.
New features for 2019 include a more spacious cabin, standard suite of advanced safety features, new sport variant and panoramic sunroof.
