2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class: The 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS is five-seat, four-door that places higher in the lineup than the CLA-Class four-door coupe. Like the CLA-Class, the CLS has little in the way of direct competition. For 2019 all CLS models are completely redesigned inside and out, and see the addition of a middle seat in the rear and a new electrified engine.

There's only one engine available, although a high-output AMG version is due in the near future. A 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine assisted by a 48 volt onboard electrical system produces 362 horsepower. The high-voltage system is called EQ Boost, and it supplies power by means of high-efficiency recuperation similar to a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Rear-wheel or all-wheel drive are available. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard.

There is only one model available, the CLS450, with others arriving later in 2018. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, aroma therapy, mood lighting, heated front seats, cooled front seats, power trunk closer, premium audio, navigation, infotainment and telematics system, Bluetooth, power rear sunshade, and satellite radio.

Available safety features include Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive, rear-view camera, blind-spot assist, lane-keep assist, park assist, pre-collision system, distance-based cruise control, pedestrian detection, automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, etc.
