2019 Chevrolet Malibu: The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu is a 5-seat car that's only available as a 4-door sedan. Only front-wheel-drive models are offered. Competitors include the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima and Toyota Camry. For 2019, the Malibu receives a refreshed front and rear styling, a new RS model and other in-cabin tech offerings. A hybrid variant is also available.
There are three engines available: A turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that makes 163 horsepower and is paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 250 horsepower and is paired to a 9-speed automatic, and a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder aided by a 1.5 kWh battery pack with 182 horsepower. EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 27 mpg city to 46 mpg highway.
Trims levels are L, LS, LT, RS, Hybrid and Premier. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, teen driver monitoring, 4G LTE hotspot, wireless phone charging, heated and cooled front seats, leather front seats, USB, power sunroof and heated rear seats. Safety features include rearview camera, blind-spot alert, front and rear park assist, front automatic braking, lane-keep assist, forward-collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control.
New features for 2019 include a new 8-inch touchscreen, new LED headlights and taillights and backup camera standard.
