2019 BMW 5-Series


2019 BMW 5 Series: The 2019 BMW 5 Series is a 5-seat luxury car that's only available as a 4-door sedan. Rear- and all-wheel-drive models are offered. Competitors include the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Lexus GS and Jaguar XF. The 5 Series remains the same for 2019, with the discontinuation of its diesel engine being the only change. A high-performance M5 is also available.

There are five engines available: A 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 248 horsepower, a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder plug-in hybrid that also delivers 248 horsepower, a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder that makes 335 horsepower, a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 that produces 455 horsepower, and a race-tuned 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 617 horsepower specifically for the M5 Competition. EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 15 mpg city to 27 mpg highway.

There are six different trims: 530i, 530e iPerformance, 540i, M550i, M5 and M5 Competition. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, premium audio, Bluetooth, infotainment system with touch screen and gesture control, USB and head-up display. Safety features include blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, backup camera with rear-cross traffic alert, stability control and forward-collision warning.
