2018 Volkswagen Tiguan: The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan compact crossover boasts new styling, fresh interior and a longer wheelbase that awards it an optional third-row seat. Also new are additional driver-assistance features, a customizable instrument panel, and seating capacity for five/seven. The Tiguan competes against five-seat compacts like the Chevrolet Equinox and Ford Escape as well as three-row SUVs like the Toyota Highlander, and Mitsubishi Outlander.
The Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 184 horsepower and mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Tiguan will be available with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway for front-wheel-drive, and 21/27 for all-wheel-drive.
The Tiguan is offered in four trims: S, SE, SEL, and SEL Premium. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, panoramic moonroof, power liftgate, digital cockpit display, navigation, adaptive cruise control, leather seats, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and premium audio.
Available safety features will include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, emergency automatic braking, blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, rearview camera, and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.
