2018 Subaru BRZ: The 50th Anniversary Edition of the 2018 Subaru BRZ debuted at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show. Mechanically similar to the Toyota 86 (formerly the Scion FR-S), the 2018 Subaru BRZ is a sporty two-door sports car that seats four and competes with the Fiat 124 Spider, Ford Mustang, and Mazda Miata. The BRZ remains unchanged for 2018 but sees the addition of a new super-sports model called the tS which is limited to 500 units.
The BRZ is powered by a 2.0-liter horizontally-opposed four-cylinder that makes 205 horsepower (200 with automatic transmission). Buyers can choose from a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The BRZ is rear-wheel drive and EPA-estimated fuel economy is listed at 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway (24/33 with the automatic). The tS model features an STI-tuned chassis, sports dampers, and coilovers, as well as 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.
