2018 Smart ForTwo: The 2018 Smart ForTwo is a subcompact two-seat city car that has little in the way of true competition. Following its complete redesign in 2016, the Cabrio version returned to the lineup in 2017. More importantly, Smart drops its gasoline-powered engines for 2018 and will offer the ForTwo with an electric drivetrain only.
The ForTwo is available with a permanent-magnet synchronous AC motor, which powers a 17.6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that produces 80 horsepower and 118 lb-ft of torque. It is rear-wheel drive only, and it's equipped with a 1-speed direct drive transmission.
The Coupe is available in three different trims: Pure, Passion, and Prime, while the Cabrio is only offered in Passion and Prime. Available features include man-made leather seats, power sunroof, LED daytime running lights, Bluetooth, fog lamps, appearance package, premium audio, and heated seats.
Available safety features include crosswind assist, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.
