2018 Nissan Altima: Nissan's entry in the competitive mid-size sedan class is the 2018 Nissan Altima. This five-seat sedan competes with well-known nameplates such as the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, and Toyota Camry. For 2018, the Altima adds Nissan's advanced automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems standard on all trims.
There are two available engines: A 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 179 horsepower and a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 270 horsepower. Both mate to a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT), and the Altima is front-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at 27 mpg and 38 mpg highway for four-cylinder models (26/37 with the SR trim) and 22/32 for the V6.
There are five available trim levels: 2.5 S, 2.5 SR, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL, and 3.5 SL. Available features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, remote keyless entry, remote start, power moonroof, leather seats, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, navigation, USB, satellite radio and, dual-zone climate control. SR trim features smoked headlight and taillight housings, a rear decklid spoiler, paddle shifters, sport-tuned suspension, and 18-inch sport wheels.
Available safety features include forward emergency braking, predictive forward collision warning, blind-spot warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, traction control, and side-curtain airbags.
