2018 MINI 2-Door/4-Door: The spiritual successor to the Mini of yore, the Mini Hardtop is offered in the traditional two-door, as well as in four-door and convertible form. The compact sporty hatchback competes with other similarly shaped vehicles like the Fiat 500 and Kia Soul. For 2018, the Mini Hardtop sees the addition of a standard rearview camera and parking sensors as standard features. The Mini Cooper Convertible will no longer be available with a compact spare wheel and tire. A high-performance variant dubbed the JCW is also available.
There are three different engine offerings: A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that makes 134 horsepower, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 189 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 228-horsepower (JCW). Front- or all-wheel drive is available, and buyers have a choice between six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions.
There are three different trims available: Cooper, Cooper S, and JCW (John Cooper Works). Available features include heated front seats, navigation, panoramic sunroof, premium audio, head-up display, and Bluetooth.
Available safety features include rearview camera, parking assist, active driving assistant, stability control, and dual-front, front-side, front-knee and side-curtain airbags.
