2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class: The 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a full-size luxury sedan (also available as a coupe and convertible) that competes with the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series, and Lexus LS. The S-Class sedan sees an interior and exterior design refresh for 2018, as well as three new powertrains. Two AMG high-performance models are also available.
There are four different engines available: A 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that makes 362 horsepower, 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 463 horsepower, a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 603 horsepower, and a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 that makes 621 horsepower. All engines pair to a nine-speed automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 13 mpg city to 26 mpg highway.
The S-Class is offered in six different trims: S 450, S 450 4MATIC, S 560, S560 4MATIC, AMG S 63, and AMG S 65. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, infotainment system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, premium audio, heated front seats, cooled front seats, and in-car wireless hotspot.
Available safety features include collision prevention warning, forward collision assist, blind-spot monitoring, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, self-steering capabilities, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, and dual-front, front-side, rear-side, driver-knee and side-curtain airbags.
