2018 Mazda MX-5: Also known as the Miata, the 2018 Mazda MX-5 is the latest version of the brand's iconic two-seat roadster, which made its original debut at the Chicago Auto Show in 1989. The MX-5 has few competitors, save for the Fiat 124 Spider, with which it shares a platform. For 2018, it sees the addition of a new Brembo/BBS Recaro package, a new Dark Cherry soft-top, and heated cloth and leather seats. A retractable hardtop variant dubbed the MX-5 RF is also available.
The MX-5 is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 155 horsepower and pairs with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The MX-5 is rear-wheel drive and EPA-estimated fuel economy is listed at 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway with the six-speed manual and 27/34 with the automatic.
