2018 Mazda 3: The 2018 Mazda 3 is a sporty compact that comes in hatchback and sedan forms and competes against the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. For 2018, the five-seat 3 adds some high-tech safety systems as standard features on select trims, but otherwise, it remains unchanged. A hatchback variant dubbed the Mazda 3 5-door is also available.
The 3 offers two engines: A 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 155 horsepower and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 184 horsepower. Both are available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The Mazda 3 is front-wheel drive, and EPA-estimated fuel-economy numbers for the 2.0-liter are 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway, and 27/36 for the 2.4-liter engine.
The Mazda 3 is offered in three different trims: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. Available features include USB, Bluetooth, infotainment system, premium audio, satellite radio, navigation, heated seats, heated steering wheel, leather-trimmed seats, power sunroof, smartphone integration.
Available safety features include blind-spot monitoring, traffic-sign recognition, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, radar cruise control, automatic emergency braking, traction control, stability control, and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.
