2018 Lexus RX: The 2018 Lexus RX is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV. The original RX was one of the first luxury mid-size SUV crossovers to popularize the segment, and the current model competes with the Acura MDX, Audi Q5, and BMW X5. The RX is available with a gas engine, as the RX 350, as well as with a hybrid powertrain, as the RX 450h. A seven-seat hybrid model will arrive later in 2018 as the RX 450hL.
The RX350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 295 horsepower and pairs to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid combines a 3.5-liter V6 and an electric motor for 308 horsepower, and uses a continuously-variable automatic transmission. The RX 350 is available with front- or all-wheel drive, the hybrid is all-wheel drive. Fuel economy is rated at 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway for the RX 350 (19/26 with AWD) and 30/28 for the RX 450h.
