2018 Honda Clarity

2018 Honda Clarity: The 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid is a five-seat mid-size car that competes with vehicles such as the Ford Fusion Energi, Malibu Hybrid, and Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid. For 2018, the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid is all-new. Electric and hydrogen fuel cell variants are also available.

There's only one engine available: A 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 103 horsepower, and is paired to a permanent-magnet synchronous AC motor that makes 181 horsepower. Total output peaks at 212 horsepower. The Clarity is front-wheel drive and utilizes a 1-speed direct drive transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at 44 mpg city, 40 mpg highway, and 110 MPGe. Electric-only range is rated at 48 miles.

There are only two trims available: Base, and Touring. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, leather seats, Bluetooth, USB, Pandora, satellite radio, and navigation system.

Available safety features include forward-collision warning, rearview camera, Honda LaneWatch, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, collision-mitigation braking, road-departure mitigation system, traction control, stability control, anti-lock brakes and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.
