2018 Chevrolet Malibu: The 2018 Chevrolet Malibu is the brand's entry into the mainstream mid-size family class. It competes in a crowded, contested class with vehicles such as the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima and Toyota Camry. The Malibu remains unchanged for 2018.
The Malibu is available with two engines: A turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 163 horsepower and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 250 horsepower. The smaller engine mates to a six-speed automatic transmission and the larger one to the nine-speed automatic. The Malibu is front-wheel drive and a hybrid model is available. EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway for the smaller engine, and 22 mpg city and 33 mpg highway for the larger one. The Malibu Hybrid is rated at 49 mpg city and 43 mpg highway.
Trims levels are L, LS, LT, Hybrid, and Premium. Available features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, teen driver monitoring, 4G LTE hotspot, wireless phone charging, heated/cooled front seats, leather front seats, rear-seat USB ports, power sunroof and heated rear seats.
Available safety features include 10 airbags, rearview camera, stability control, traction control, blind-spot alert, front and rear park assist, front automatic braking, lane-keep assist, forward-collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control.
