2018 Buick LaCrosse: The 2018 Buick LaCrosse is a five-seat entry-level luxury sedan that competes with the Nissan Maxima and Lexus ES 350. The exterior look was redesigned last year, and for 2018 it sees the addition of a standard hybrid powertrain, a nine-speed automatic transmission, new paint color offerings, and a new high-end Avenir trim.
The LaCrosse is offered with two engines: A new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine teamed with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack makes 194 horsepower, and a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 310 horsepower is also available. A six-speed automatic transmission pairs to the hybrid engine, while a new nine-speed is reserved for the V6. The LaCrosse is available with front- or all-wheel drive. Fuel economy for the hybrid engine is rated at 25 mpg city/35 mpg highway, and 21/31 for the V6.
Five different trims are offered: Base, Preferred, Essence, Premium, and Avenir. Available convenience features include wireless charging, teen-driving monitor, leather seats, lumbar support system and LED headlights and taillights.
Available safety features include 10 standard airbags (including front-knee), rearview camera, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot alert, lane-change alert, automatic park assist, front pedestrian detection, front automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision alert and safety-alert seat.
