2017 Toyota 86: Mechanically similar to the Subaru BRZ, the 2017 Toyota 86 is a four-seat, two-door sports coupe that offers manual or automatic transmission choices and competes with vehicles such as the Ford Mustang and Mazda MX-5 Miata. In addition to getting a new name for 2017 (the 86 was formerly the Scion FR-S), the car receives new looks inside and out, a revised suspension and a power bump for manual-transmission models.
The 86 is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 205 horsepower (200 with automatic transmission) and mates to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. The 86 is rear-wheel drive and has EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway (24/32 with automatic).
Available features include air conditioning, cruise control, USB, Bluetooth, and tilt/telescope steering wheel.
Available safety features include traction control, stability control, brake assist, rear-view camera, anti-lock brakes, and dual-front, front-side and side-curtain airbags.
The base price for the 2017 Toyota 86 is $26,255, not including destination and dealer fees.
