2017 Lexus ES: The 2017 Lexus ES is a mid-size entry-luxury sedan that is mechanically similar to the Toyota Camry. The five-seat ES competes with vehicles such as the Audi A4, Buick Lacrosse, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. For 2017, a safety package that was previously optional is now standard.
The ES is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 268 horsepower. It pairs to a six-speed automatic transmission and is front-wheel drive. The ES has EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. A hybrid version, dubbed 300h is available, and it combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor to make 200 combined system horsepower. It has a continuously-variable automatic transmission and EPA-estimated fuel-economy numbers of 40 mpg city and 39 mpg highway.

Available safety features include anti-lock brakes, rear-view camera, traction control, stability control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, radar cruise control, lane-departure alert, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and dual-front, driver- and passenger-knee, front- and rear-side and front and rear side-curtain airbags.
