Featured Vehicle - The 2016 Acura Precision

Acura Precision

ACURA PRECISION: Standing a mere 4-ft. 3-in. in height, the Acura Precision concept is on display for the first time in the windy city during the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. With its bold, crouched and wide stance four-door hardtop body, the Precision prototype predicts the styling cues and shapes to be found on future Acura production vehicles. Creative talent from the Acura Design Studio in California pushed the styling envelop to new dimensions by blending sheer surfaces with muscular, organic sculpting to achieve the ultra-low, long dash-to-axle ratio that communicates power. A strong front fascia wears an open grille called the "Diamond Pentagon," complimented by jewel constellation LED headlights that are composed of organically arranged fractal elements. From the side, the hardtop is highlighted by the absence of the B-pillars, and the swelling rear wheel arches that frame the five-spoke machined 22-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tires. Around back the floating taillight motif is achieved by the entire surface behind the light scalloped out to create a look that is both lightweight and strong. The Acura team developed a key theme, dubbed "quantum continuum," which is seen in the seamless transition of materials and structures flowing from the exterior to the interior. Of particular note are the cantilevered surfaces, double-layered instrument panel, ultra-thin "floating" rear seats, and hand-crafted audio speaker grilles made of exotic wood. Upon entry, Acura's digital human-machine interface scans each occupant and selects personalized features and functions, including maps, audio and customized vehicle performance preferences. Sitting behind the compact, race-inspired, sports steering wheel with paddle shifters, the driver faces a floating center gauge, head-up display, cantilevered center stack and an ultra-wide, thin and curved center display screen. While no powertrain has been decided at this time, speculations on the show floor are that a potent V-8 or even a V-10 engine would fit right at home under the long, curvaceous hood. XFINITY wants to make sure you don't miss any of these amazing vehicles by offering two great ways to go home with a prize.
