Taking a Second Look at First Look

Flashy cars, beautiful women (six of which were with me), and cameras flashing. Is this real life? It actually was for me!
Last night I attended the First Look for Charity event at the Chicago Auto Show. This black-tie gala event is an opportunity for socialites and automotive enthusiasts to get a leg up on the rest of the public during an exclusive preview. There was live music and an array of food from sushi and shrimp to bratwurst and meatballs accompanied by champagne, wine, martinis, beer and other mixed drinks.
Last night First Look for Charity raised $1.9 million for 18 different charities and two lucky guests left the event proud owners of a 2011 Honda CR-Z and a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Turbo!
For me, the best part was getting to sit in and take photos of my favorite cars—the 2011 Jeep Wrangler, the 2011 Nissan Versa and the mouth watering 2011 Mercedes SL 550 convertible.
I also loved getting to be first in line to experience all the interactive features around the floor. Chevy Camaro had anyone who was interested line up in front of this row of cameras and jump on the count of three. The cameras got the jumpers in mid air and provided hilarious pictures. Check mine out! http://social-gen.com/chevy/cs.php?u=f2D67 I’m the stud in the middle.
Overall I had a fantastic experience at First Look for Charity here at the Chicago Auto Show. This is definitely an event worth saving up for and putting in your calendar for next year.
