Secretary of State to Provide Driver and Vehicle Services at Chicago Auto Show
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announced the office will have a booth at the Chicago Auto Show, providing attendees with the opportunity to obtain a standard driver’s license or ID card, renew a vehicle registration and register to become an organ and tissue donor.
“We are proud to offer driver and vehicle services this year at the Chicago Auto Show, an event I have participated in for two decades,” White said. “People come to this wonderful event to preview the new cars, and I hope that while they are visiting they take advantage of the services we have to offer.”
The Secretary of State booth will be at the show from Feb. 12 to Feb. 20 and open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 21 it will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Masks are required.
Services at the booth include:
• Obtaining a standard driver’s license or ID card
• Renewing a vehicle registration
• Registering to become an organ and tissue donor
Secretary of State Police will also be available to answer questions.
As a reminder, Secretary White has extended all driver’s license and ID card and permit expiration dates to March 31, 2022. This extension does not apply to commercial driver’s licenses (CDL) or CDL learner’s permits. In addition, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has extended the federal REAL ID deadline to May 3, 2023.
Individuals can visit the Secretary of State’s website at ilsos.gov for online services including checking eligibility to renew their driver’s license online, applying for a duplicate driver’s license, renewing license plate stickers or locating the nearest Driver Services facility.
