FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MITSUBISHI DEBUTS 2017 OUTLANDER SPORT LIMITED EDITION AT 2017 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

CHICAGO (Feb. 9, 2017) - Mitsubishi today revealed a new limited edition trim for its most popular model, the Outlander Sport, at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview. The crossover's newest trim - Outlander Sport Limited Edition - sits just above its base model, the ES, and features significant updates including 18-inch wheels, a rearview camera, an aluminum-alloy fuel door, and high-intensity discharge headlights.

Alex Fedorak, public relations manager for Mitsubishi, kicked off the press conference with a nod to the company's 100th anniversary.

"A lot of things have happened over the course of the last 100 years," said Fedorak. "A lot of innovations, and I'm proud to say that we were one of those innovators along the way." The Mitsubishi Outlander, Fedorak continued, was one of the first crossover utility vehicles and helped set the stage for what is now a very popular segment.

The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Limited Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine offering 148 horsepower and is available in all-wheel drive.

Interior updates offer a sportier and more dramatic look and feel. Improvements to the Outlander Sport LE's interior include heated front bucket-style seats, dark fabric offset by red trim throughout the cabin, and aluminum-covered pedals. Additionally, the vehicle's entertainment system is equipped to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport LE is expected to hit dealership lots this month at a starting price of $21,995.
