HISPANIC HERITAGE DAY RETURNS TO THE 2020 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW ON FEB. 14

CHICAGO (Feb. 13, 2020) – The Chicago Auto Show, in partnership with Telemundo Chicago, is gearing up for its annual Hispanic Heritage Day on Friday, Feb. 14. Now in its 13th year, Hispanic Heritage Day honors and celebrates the Latino history and culture with a full-day lineup of special events and programming throughout the day.

"Telemundo Chicago is thrilled to be back for Hispanic Heritage Day 2020 at the Chicago Auto Show," said David Doebler, Telemundo Chicago and NBC 5 Chicago president and general manager.

Telemundo will feature special themed programs showcasing the vibrancy of the Hispanic culture will be held in special events area adjacent to the North Hall Ticket Lobby and at various manufacturer exhibits. Event highlights include:

  • 12-3 p.m. - DJ "Lalokera"
  • 3 p.m. - Martin Metzger / Flamenco Ensemble
  • 4 p.m. - Sambrazilian / Samba Dancers           
  • 5 p.m. - Singers: Isabella Mota, Sebastian Castellanos & Alexandra Salgado
  • 6 p.m. - Mariachi Los Viajeros
  • 7 p.m. - Ballet Folklorico Xochitl

Telemundo Chicago will also produce a TV special titled Best of the Chicago Auto Show to air on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 4:30 p.m. The program will re-air on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 11 p.m.

The nation's largest auto show, the Chicago Auto Show spans more than 1 million square feet of contiguous floor space, displays multiple world and North American introductions and showcases a complete range of domestic and imported passenger cars, trucks, sport-utility vehicles, minivans and concept cars. In all, nearly 1,000 different vehicles are on display, including hundreds of interactive, aftermarket, accessories and auto-related exhibits, competition vehicles, antique and collector cars. Additionally, the show features four indoor test tracks and three outdoor ride-and-drive opportunities.

The 2020 Chicago Auto Show is open daily 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Feb. 8-17, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, Presidents Day.
