FORD INTRODUCES ALL-NEW FORD EXPEDITION AT 2017 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

CHICAGO (Feb. 9, 2017) - Ford Motor Co. today showed off its all-new Ford Expedition at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview. The full-size SUV is slated to be the smartest and most adaptable Expedition ever, offering space, connectivity and new technology for the whole family.

Craig Patterson, utility marketing manager for Ford, said this vehicle marks the first time since 1997 the company has released an all-new Expedition.

"The segment is really coming back," said Patterson. "We've already seen growth in the segment, so it's a great time to have an all-new vehicle."

The all-new Expedition, powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, is up to 300 pounds lighter, thanks to an all-new high-strength, aluminum-alloy body, and is expected to deliver best-in-class towing capabilities. The vehicle comes equipped with standard Auto Start-Stop, a class-exclusive new 10-speed automatic transmission and is packed with driver-assist technologies, including active park assist and a 360-degree camera.

On the interior, new connectivity features such as wireless charging, six USB outlets, and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot bring drivers and passengers a new level of comfort and convenience.

Patterson said the vehicle is lighter and more capable than ever, thanks to its aluminum-alloy body.

"It's trim, but able to bring all the features people want as well from the sliding second row to the driver assist features," he said.

The all-new Expedition is built in Kentucky and will be available on dealership lots this fall.
