FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO (Feb. 12, 2015) – David Buchko, corporate communications director of BMW North America, walked the press and social media influencers around the BMW exhibit to discuss the company’s capabilities within the realm of technology.

“We are an ‘all of the above company’ when it comes to technology,” said Buchko. “Gasoline engines? Yes. Diesels? There will be a place for them. Further advances in hybrid and electric technologies? Absolutely.”

Though Buchko didn’t give specific information on any new concept vehicles models from a 2016 collection, he did give insight into the BMW i-series and M models.

On display from the BMWi series were the 2014 BWM i8 and i3 models with hybrid and battery power capabilities. The i8 is a battery-powered vehicle that has the ability to go 0-60 mph in four seconds, yet still get 76 miles to the gallon, while the i3 is BMW’s first full production electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid.
