FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NISSAN EXPANDS "MIDNIGHT EDITION" EQUIPMENT PACKAGE TO SIX CORE MODELS ON EVE OF 2017 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW MEDIA PREVIEW
CHICAGO (Feb. 9, 2017) - Nissan announced it would be expanding its popular "Midnight Edition" equipment package to six core vehicles in its lineup. The announcement was made to a select group of automotive journalists on the eve of the 2017 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview.
Members of the media were invited to partake in a midnight-themed event that set the stage for a reveal of six vehicles available in the Midnight Edition package. Those vehicles are: Sentra, Altima, Maxima, Rogue, Murano and Pathfinder.
The appearance package was designed to add visual excitement to the vehicles and features black aluminum-alloy wheels, a black spoiler, black mirror caps and black exterior accents. Additional equipment options are available for each vehicle.
The first Midnight Edition Maxima - the 2016 Maxima SR - now accounts for 85 percent of Maxima Sales.
"The idea of expanding the availability of the Midnight Edition package was driven by customers who loved the blackout treatment on Maxima SR and asked for it to be available on other popular Nissan vehicles," said Christian Meunier, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations, Nissan North America, Inc.; chairman, Nissan Canada. "The six models offering Midnight Edition packages account for more than 75 percent of our U.S. sales, so we think they will find a receptive audience."
Pricing for Midnight Edition-equipped vehicles starts at $495, and most vehicles are available in dealerships now.
