FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Subaru Unveils 2020 Legacy during the 2019 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview

CHICAGO (Feb. 7, 2019) – Subaru unveiled an all-new seventh-generation 2020 Legacy during the 2019 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview on Feb. 7. Considered the most advanced Legacy in the model’s 30-year history, the 2020 vehicle offers more technology, performance, safety and refinement than ever before.

Thomas Doll, president and CEO, Subaru of America, Inc. stated, “The Legacy has always been known as the smartest alternative in the midsize sedan segment and it continues to provide us significant volume in this category. A lot of people talk about the death of the sedan in the U.S. market, but we think we can get more of these sales with the best-ever Legacy.”

The all-new Touring XT brings a new level of sophistication and power to the Subaru Legacy. Powered by a new 260-horsepower direct injection turbocharged BOXER engine, the Legacy is slated to deliver 32 mpg on highway.

Exterior styling features an advanced dynamic look with wider fenders and a higher trunk surface. The Legacy’s interior is upgraded with high-quality materials and is completely redesigned for extra comfort, style and passenger space. A notable key feature of the completely redesigned Legacy interior is the available all-new 11.6-inch STARLINK multimedia touchscreen. The big-screen interface makes it easy and intuitive to customize entertainment options and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Optional on Limited and standard on both XT trims is the segment-exclusive DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, which uses a dedicated camera and facial recognition software to identify driver fatigue and distraction. Additional notable features include symmetrical all-wheel drive and driver assist technologies. According to Subaru, the Legacy will receive the highest possible front crash prevention rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway.

The 2020 Subaru Legacy will hit dealerships in the fall; pricing has yet to be announced.
