Hispanic Heritage Day Returns to the Chicago Auto Show on Feb. 15

CHICAGO (Feb. 15, 2019) – The Chicago Auto Show, in partnership with Telemundo, is gearing up for its annual Hispanic Heritage Day on Friday, Feb. 15. Now in its 12th year, Hispanic Heritage Day honors and celebrates the Latino history and culture with a full-day lineup of special events and programming throughout the day.

“Telemundo Chicago is proud to support Hispanic Heritage Day at the 2019 Auto Show once again,” said David Doebler, NBC 5 Chicago and Telemundo president and general manager. 

Telemundo will feature a robust lineup of activities and performances for fans of all ages in the lobby of the North Hall throughout the afternoon. Event highlights include:

12-3 p.m. - DJ “Lalokera”

3 p.m. - Swing el Caribe: dance such as salsa, cumbia and merengue combined with music covers to Latin American rhythms

4 p.m. - Singers: Angelica Angulo and Sebastian Castellanos

5 p.m. - Chinelos: traditional costumed dancers which arose from indigenous and Catholic traditions
                     
5:30 p.m - Ballet Folklorico Dancers: folk dance of Mexico covering a wide range of Mexican dance forms

6 p.m. - Photo opportunities and autograph signing with the local Telemundo news team

7 p.m. - Mariachi Los Viajeros

Telemundo Chicago will produce a TV special titled Best of the Chicago Auto Show to air on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 4:30 p.m. The program will re-air on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 11 p.m.

The nation's largest auto show, the Chicago Auto Show spans more than 1 million square feet of contiguous floor space, displays multiple world and North American introductions and showcases a complete range of domestic and imported passenger cars, trucks, sport-utility vehicles, minivans and concept cars. In all, nearly 1,000 different vehicles will be on display, including hundreds of interactive, aftermarket, accessories and auto-related exhibits, competition vehicles, antique and collector cars. Additionally, the show will feature four indoor test tracks and six outdoor ride-and-drive opportunities.
The 2019 Chicago Auto Show is open daily 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Feb. 9-18, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, Presidents Day.
