FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JAGUAR AND HOT WHEELS ANNOUNCE ULTIMATE TRACK CHALLENGE TO CELEBRATE DEBUT OF 2021 JAGUAR F-TYPE DURING CHICAGO AUTO SHOW MEDIA PREVIEW

CHICAGO (Feb. 6, 2020) – Jaguar and Hot Wheels announced the Ultimate Track Engineering Challenge to celebrate the North American debut of the 2021 Jaguar F-TYPE during the 2020 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview. Jaguar and Hot Wheels also set a Guinness World Records title for the most loops-the-loops in a Hot Wheels track as part of the vehicle's reveal at the Chicago Auto Show.

"The Chicago Auto Show is one of the biggest auto shows in the country; you have a lot of media here, a lot of social media enthusiasts and people who love the cars," said Stuart Schorr, vice president communications, Jaguar Land Rover. "But, most of all, it's a big consumer market and the perfect place to show off our new sports car."

The new Jaguar F-TYPE offers a more muscular, assertive design with a cabin defined by rich, luxurious materials and details. New exterior design features include a new clamshell hood, front bumpers and subtly enlarged grille. The new driver-focused interior has evolved into a more refined sense of luxury and sportiness.

A range of engines in the 2021 F-TYPE include four-, six- and eight-cylinder options with 296 hp, 380 hp and 575 hp respective outputs. All are matched to eight-speed Quickshift transmissions with full manual control capability using either the SportShift gear selector or the steering wheel-mounted paddles. Each engine is equipped with an active exhaust system - switchable either as an option or as standard. Customers who choose the 575 hp supercharged V8 can select the new Quiet Start mode.

The new F-TYPE also offers more driver-focused technology, including a reconfigurable, high-definition, 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, Touch Pro infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard and software-over-the-air functionality. Included is the Meridian sound systems which also offer enhanced sound reproduction.

The 2021 Jaguar F-TYPE is priced from $61,600 in the U.S., and will be available as a Coupe or Convertible model in four trim levels: F-TYPE P300, First Edition, R-Dynamic, and R. Jaguar retailers in North America can now take customer orders for the 2021 F-TYPE.

The record-setting track Jaguar and Hot Wheels built at the Chicago Auto Show measured 69.5 feet and was built entirely from Hot Wheels Track sets. It consisted of seven loops unassisted by power boosters; breaking the previous Guinness World Record by two loops.

Schorr added, "For many car enthusiasts, a Hot Wheels car was their first automotive experience. Oftentimes it was an exotic sports car, like the F-TYPE, which is why we are thrilled to be revealing the vehicle in North America with this Hot Wheels partnership. Jaguar is committed to supporting the next generation of smart, creative, automotive enthusiasts and we are excited to see the submissions students will be making across the U.S. and Canada."

The Jaguar and Hot Wheels Ultimate Track Challenge will be open to college and university engineering programs to partner with their local Jaguar retailer for students to design and build the most complex Hot Wheels track, meeting both Hot Wheels and Guinness World Records parameters. The most challenging track built will be awarded a $50,000 donation to the participating institutions' scholarship fund. During the Chicago Auto Show Media Preview, the first group to enter the competition was a group of students from the Illinois Institute of Technology, who will partner with Jaguar Land Rover Orland Park.
