INFINITI DEBUTS NEW Q50 ENGINES AT THE 2016 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

CHICAGO (February 11, 2016) - Infiniti introduced the full line-up of new, advanced engines for its Infiniti Q50 sports sedan during the Media Preview of the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.

"We have never offered more than two engines in any car before," said Kyle Bazemore, senior manager of Infiniti Product Communications. "We now have four engine choices for 2016."

The base engine in the new Q50 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder that delivers 208 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It will be available in the Q50 2.0t model in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. This engine option will be available in early 2016. A new 3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine replaces the 3.7-liter V6. This powertrain will be available in the 2016 Q50 Red Sport 400 starting in early spring; the 300 hp Q50 3.0t will be available in late spring.  The fourth engine option is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that pairs to an electric motor for a combined output of 360 hp. This powertrain is available in the 2016 Q50 that carries over from the Q50 Hybrid.

All new engine-equipped Q50 models are on display at the Chicago Auto Show, along with the 2016 QX60 crossover and the all-new QX30 premium active crossover. It is the first time all of these new models have appeared together.
