FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO (Feb. 12, 2015) – After a day full of manufacturer-hosted press events featuring product announcements to social media focused events, Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA) presented Hyundai with the award for most socially-engaging exhibit at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.  The award, new this year to the Chicago Auto Show, was presented to the exhibitor with the most interactive exhibit space from a digital and social media perspective.

“We loved Hyundai’s interactive display,” said Suzanne Fanning, president of Word of Mouth Marketing Association. “Auto show attendees could race, follow the leader board, share images and receive pictures while surrounded by a fun and quite lovely staff.”

“Hyundai has been in the forefront of social media in every aspect of its operations, and we’re very honored to receive this award acknowledging our efforts at Hyundai Chicago Auto Show display,” said Chris Hosford, Hyundai’s executive director of corporate communications. “Hyundai participated at the very first Chicago Auto Show Social Media Day, which was an industry first, and social media has continued to be a priority for our brand.”

Hyundai is among the first of automakers to offer both Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto inside its vehicles. At the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Hyundai is providing in-car demonstrations of the two systems inside the all-new Sonata. The conducted demonstrations are to ensure drivers are familiar with using Google Voice or Apple’s Siri natural speech to make calls, send messages and the navigation app via their smartphones – all in an effort to reduce driver distraction. Chicago Auto Show attendees can visit Hyundai’s interactive display in the North Hall of the showroom.
