Honda Previews New Accord

Posted by: Mark Bilek

Calling it the "most sculpted Accord ever," Honda has finally taken the wraps off the 2013 Accord. Sharing lines and proportions of the Accord coupe concept that was at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, the '13 Accord promises to be even more spacious and luxurious inside and smaller outside than the current model.

Styling changes include a new grille, side character line and deeply contoured rocker panel. Exterior brightwork is highlighted by available LED daytime running lights, headlights and taillights. Front and rear overhangs are reduced compared to the current model, giving the car a sportier look.

"This car is the most sculpted and the most dynamic Accord yet," said Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of product planning for American Honda. "Following Honda's long-held philosophy of 'man maximum, machine minimum,' the beautiful exterior evolved from a focus on interior space and the needs of the people inside it."

Honda hasn't released photographs of the interior or given out detailed specifications for the 2013 Accord, but promises more information later this fall. I guess for now, we'll just have to look at the pretty pictures. . . .
