HISPANIC HERITAGE DAY AT 2017 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW RETURNS WITH SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND EVENTS ON FEB. 17

CHICAGO (Feb. 16, 2017) - The 2017 Chicago Auto Show, together with Telemundo Chicago, is proud to announce the return of Hispanic Heritage Day, an annual celebration of the Hispanic community and its influence in the automotive market, to be held on Friday, Feb. 17.

Hispanic Heritage Day, now in its tenth year, offers attendees a diverse lineup of events and programs that honor and celebrate Hispanic culture and history.

"We are pleased to be continuing a time-honored tradition at the Chicago Auto Show," said Mike McGrath, Chicago Auto Show chairman. "Our partnership with Telemundo allows us to deliver a unique experience to our Hispanic audience, and this year is no exception."

In addition to the already robust schedule of events at the show, Hispanic Heritage Day features the following programming on Friday, Feb. 17:

  • 12 p.m. - DJ Lalokera
  • 2:30 p.m. - Paola Bordon and Daniel Nace, Tango Dancers
  • 3:30 p.m. - DJ Lalokera
  • 4 p.m. - Grupo Flamenco, Flamenco Dancers
  • 5 p.m. - Mariachi Angeles de Puebla
  • 6 p.m. - Dueto Cascabel
  • 7 p.m. - Flor de Carazon "Folkloric Dancers"

"We are proud to be longtime sponsors of such a renowned and respected consumer show that pays tribute to the rich heritage of our Spanish speaking viewers and continues to play an integral part in our community," said David Doebler, president and general manager of NBC 5 and Telemundo Chicago.

"Hispanic Day at the Auto Show" will showcase a variety of Latino musical and cultural performances. The event will also give local viewers an opportunity to learn about the station's mobile radar truck called "Storm Chaser" or "Vigilante de Tormentas" in Spanish.

Telemundo will be featuring live cut-ins between 4-5:30 p.m. on their broadcast throughout the evening.
