2018 Chicago Auto Show - Show Guide - page 19

While kicking the tires of the
newest vehicles is the most obvious
attraction of the Chicago Auto Show,
there are so many additional reasons
to attend. The nation’s largest
auto show presents numerous
opportunities for attendees to
enjoy the event with its impressive
lineup of indoor test tracks, outdoor ride-and-drive
opportunities, interactive simulators, family fun
activities and special guest appearances. Throughout
the expansive 1 million sq.-ft. McCormick Place venue,
guests are sure to find an abundance of displays and
activities.
INDOOR TEST TRACKS:
Attendees will be among the first to experience
automakers’ latest models featured in three indoor test
tracks! Camp Jeep makes its 14th consecutive year with
a track that shows off the all-new 2018 JeepWrangler.
Throughout the 24,000-sq. ft. exhibit, Camp Jeep will
offer the Ground Clearance Stair Climber, Jeep Tunnel
Pass-Thru, Extreme Break-over and more exciting
obstacles. The Toyota track will also return in 2018, and
Kia is in with a brand-new experience.
OUTDOOR RIDE-AND-DRIVES:
Outdoor ride-and-drive opportunities are a great
way to get behind the wheel and test out your favorite
vehicles. Manufacturers such as Subaru, Mazda,
Volkswagen, Kia, Ford, Cadillac and Midwest Evolve
(featuring the Chevy Bolt EV and the Nissan Leaf ) are
all available for test drives. Product specialists ride
along and share new feature updates with drivers for a
personalized experience. Check in at the participating
manufacturer exhibits first for more details.
INTERACTIVE SIMULATORS:
Although riding along in the latest vehicles is hard
to beat, the imaginative world of interactive simulators
and virtual reality is a fun way to experience some of
the world’s most futuristic automobile technology.
Hyundai is presenting “FORZA Motorsport 7” to make
a public appearance within the Hyundai exhibit at the
show. The FORZA racing simulators are available to
racing enthusiasts who want to test out their driving
skills behind the wheel
with a realistic experience.
The new Chevrolet Virtual
Dynamics Lab experience
is offering attendees a
behind-the-scenes look
at vehicle testing through
4-D virtual reality. Interactive simulator experiences
will also be available at Dodge with the Challenger SRT
Demon as competitors race one another side by side.
FAMILY FUN:
The Chicago Auto Show creates a welcoming
environment for families to attend and enjoy the show.
Not only is free admission provided to children six years
of age or younger (when they accompany a paying
adult), kids ages 7-12 receive a discounted ticket of
just $7. McCormick Place is equipped with wheelchairs
and motorized vehicles available to be rented onsite.
Stroller-friendly shuttles bus service is provided from
all parking garages/lots to the venue. Join us any
day of the week, or return on Feb. 19 for Family Day
(Presidents Day) – the final day of the show – to partake
in a wide range of activities perfect for families with
children of all ages.
SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCES:
One of the many reasons to love the city of Chicago
is, of course, the fantastic sports. Even the local sports
teams and players contribute to the event in many
ways. Players attend the show and are available to sign
autographs for the public. Teams such as the Chicago
White Sox, the Chicago Wolves and the Chicago
Blackhawks all join efforts to help make this auto
show the largest in the nation. Relationships between
the Chicago Auto Show and dedicated exhibitors
provide countless opportunities for everyone to enjoy
and create lasting memories. View the full lineup on
ChicagoAutoShow.com or by downloading the show’s
official mobile app.
