FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FIAT INTRODUCES ALL-TURBO 500 LINEUP AT 2018 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW
CHICAGO (Feb. 9, 2018) – Automotive media at the 110th edition of the Chicago Auto Show was among the first in the world to see Fiat’s all-turbo lineup for its iconic 2018 Fiat 500 family of vehicles. The company debuted the all-turbo series at an Italian-themed reception at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview on Thursday.
Matt McAlear, head of products for Fiat, spoke to a group of media at the automaker’s news reception, discussing the impetus for the all-turbo family of vehicles.
“When we relaunched the iconic Fiat brand to the U.S. in 2011, we had a mission to deliver vehicles that truly represented our customers’ personalities inside and out,” said McAlear. “And today, we continue that tradition by making Fiat one of the first to standardize turbos across its entire lineup.”
All 2018 Fiat 500 models will come standard with a 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine that makes 33 percent more horsepower than previous models. The 2018 Fiat 500 Pop and Lounge models include a host of standard track-ready features, including a performance breaking system, sport suspension, sport spoiler, 16-inch aluminum wheels and ParkView rear backup camera.
The high-performance Fiat 500 Abarth model delivers up to 160 horsepower and 183 lb.-ft. of torque and includes a performance suspension, three electronic stability control modes, 16-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels and a dual-exhaust system responsible for the unmistakable Abarth sound. As an added bonus, consumers who purchase or lease a 2018 Fiat 500 Abarth will receive a complimentary one-day high-performance driving session at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.
Customers can begin ordering the 2018 Fiat 500 all-turbo lineup as early as this month, and the vehicles will hit dealership lots in the second quarter of the year.
