FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DODGE DEBUTS POWERFUL NEW 2018 DODGE DURANGO SRT, TWO LIMITED EDITION PICKUP TRUCKS AT 2017 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW
CHICAGO (Feb. 9, 2017) - Dodge unveiled its high-performance 2018 Dodge Durango SRT - the brand's fastest SUV in its class - at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show Media Preview.
The powerful three-row sport utility vehicle - called the "Dodge Charger of the full-size SUV segment" - touts a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that delivers 475 horsepower, 470 lb.-ft. of torque and features an 8,600-lb. towing capacity. The National Hot Rod Association certified SUV is capable of 0-60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds and has a quarter-mile time of just 12.9 seconds.
The Dodge Durango SRT features seven drive modes, allowing drivers to precisely adjust drive settings to maximize performance or comfort. New Brembo high-performance calipers with vented rotors at all four corners deliver exceptional breaking performance.
"Durango is an outlier," said Chad Seymour, Dodge SRT brand manager. "Most of the SUVs in this segment are car-based and focus on utility. Durango is different. It has best-in-class towing capacity. It has more leg room. But we took this vehicle to the race track not only make sure it delivers on performance, but so that it also looks the part of the SRT."
The exterior features standard 20-inch "Goliath" wheels with a new "Black Noise" finish, a four-inch dual-round exhaust tip with Nickel Chrome finish and an SRT-inspired grille mesh pattern finish.
The cabin has been refreshed to include a SRT flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shift, heated Nappa leather captain's chairs with silver-stitched SRT logos in the first and second rows, and a seven-inch, customizable digital instrument gauge cluster that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A powerful BeatsAudio premium sound system comes standard.
Sales of the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT are expected to begin in late 2017.
Also making their debut at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show are two factory-custom limited-edition Ram pickup trucks: the light-duty Ram 1500 Copper Sport and the heavy-duty Ram 2500 and 3500 Night.
Building on the success of the Ram 1500 Sport, The Ram 1500 Copper Sport features a radiant Copper Pearl color, 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, interior color stitching and a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system with subwoofer.
Production of the Ram 1500 Copper Sport is limited to 3,000. It will hit dealership lots this month at a starting price of $45,630 (destination not included).
The 2500 and 3500 Night package is available in Crew Cab configurations and any available powertrain combination. It boasts custom features including blacked-out wheels, a black grille, black-bezel headlamps and unique powertrain door badging.
Production of the limited Night pickup trucks is underway and will be priced starting at $45,520.
