Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations had a very popular exhibit during the 10-day public run of the 2010 Chicago Auto Show. Biggest draw to the booth was the sight of the radical DeltaWing IndyCar prototype. It was unveiled at a press conference on Feb. 10th where it was billed as the racing car of the future. Developed by DeltaWing LLC as an open wheel racer, it featured a weight-savings ultra narrow front track design and fairings for the Firestone tires that reduced aerodynamic drag and prevented wheel interlocking. Firestone is the official tire supplier to the IndyCar series. Also Bridgestone introduced four new Firestone branded Precision tires which included a new Firehawk Summer ultra high performance tire and a new Destination tire. In addition, Bridgestone Americas launched the fourth annual Safety Scholars Video contest at the Chicago show. The contest offered young drivers the opportunity to create short videos to educate others about how to stay safe behind the wheel, both as a driver and a passenger.
