First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. This year marks the 117th edition of the Chicago Auto Show.

 
  • A version of the 1983 Chevrolet Corvette GTP racing car appeared at the 1984 Chicago Auto Show. Chevrolet said that the GTP (Grand Touring Prototype), was fitted with a modified and turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6 engine that developed more than 750 horsepower. The concept was finished white over silver. During the 1985 show, the GTP appeared once again, this time painted red and silver.
