start from thebeginning

First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. This year marks the 110th edition of the Chicago Auto Show.

One of three Mercury “Visions of Styling” show cars displayed at the 1954 Chicago Auto Show was the Carnival two-door hardtop. Based on a Monterey, the eye-catching two-tone exterior featured a red roof over yellow body. Inside the cabin was a treatment of yellow confetti and siren red vinyl. The two other Mercury "visions"- the Resorter convertible and Fantasy four-door sedan - were also based on Montereys. Unfortunately, no images of those cars at the show have been located – yet!
