(Feb. 6, 2018) - There’s lots happening with Kia this year during media days at the Chicago Auto Show with plenty of potential stories, including: a concept you can drive;  a Soul built from canned food; a huge indoor gym for sport utility vehicles; as well as a scheduled stop during the Influencer Day to learn what makes Kia one of the industry’s best auto brands.

Wed. Feb. 7
Concept & Technology Garage with Stinger GT Federation, MCCormick Place, West Building, F2 Hall
o From 1:30 to 4 p.m. Come drive the Stinger GT Federation concept that debuted at SEMA this year. Be one of an exclusive group to drive the highly-modified, 380-horsepower special Stinger GT concept.

Thurs. Feb. 8
SUV Gym , 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

  • Ride along with Kia Product Specialists as they demonstrate and describe the performance and safety features of our AWD Sorento and Sportage by driving the vehicles through a series of obstacles on our indoor course adjacent to the Kia display. Obstacles include a heavy bag slalom, side hill traverse, hill climb and descent and wheel-articulating moguls. Construction of the track used 65,000 lbs of material and, at 15,400 square feet, it’s about the size of an NHL hockey rink.

CANstruction, 8 a.m. -1 p.m.

  • Students from Penn High School (Mishawaka, IN—just outside South Bend) are constructing a Kia Soul from 5,000 food cans in a space near the Kia display. After the show the cans will be donated to a local food pantry.

Fri. Feb. 9
Social Media Tour at Kia display, 11:30 a.m. Influencers will come to Kia stand to explore story ideas, including:

  • The all-new Forte and how brilliant design (Stinger) can move the needle for a whole brand
  • Niro—from from zero to hero—the crossover hybrid that challenged the green status quo

Hope you can join us. In addition to all these activities, come see us at our display to see all our vehicles and talk to our product specialists. Looking forward to seeing you there.
