Blackhawks Support MedEx Ambulance Service at First Look for Charity

Chicago Blackhawks Hall-of-Famer Denis Savard, plus former Hawks Bryan Bickell and Adam Burish will be the guests of MedEx Ambulance Service at the First Look for Charity event on Friday, February 9. This private event is an exclusive ‘sneak peek’ of the 2018 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place. Savard, Bickell and Burish will be at the Ford display from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. supporting MedEx’s introduction of their new “concept” ambulance with high-tech capabilities including the Lockheed Martin Indago unmanned aircraft system (UAS).

Currently an ambassador for the Blackhawks’ organization, Savard played with the Hawks from 1980 to 1990 and 1994 to 1997, and was coach from 2006 to 2009. Considered one of the quickest and most electrifying players in NHL history, fans will always remember his trademark move, the “Savardian Spin-a-rama” which featured Savard doing a complete 360 degree turn to protect the puck. A nine-time NHL All-Star, he was inducted into the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000.

A 10-year NHL veteran, Bickell played 384 of his 395 career games with the Blackhawks. The tough left winger helped the team hoist the Stanley Cup in 2010, 2013 and 2015. Today, Bickell is helping raise awareness for Multiple sclerosis. More than 2 million people are affected by MS worldwide. It’s cause is unknown and there is no known cure.

Another member of the Hawks 2010 Stanley Cup Championship team, Burish is currently an analyst covering Blackhawks on NBC Sports Chicago. Known as one of the Hawks toughest forwards, Burish's physical play would often bring United Center fans to their feet. He retired from hockey in 2016.

Adding even more fun (and volume) to the MedEx exhibit will be BritBeat, the only touring Beatles Tribute Band as young as the Beatles were when they played concerts in the sixties. First Look attendees will think they've been transported back in time as BritBeat performs many of the Fab Fours greatest hits.

Be sure to stop by the Ford display to meet Denis, Bryan and Adam, listen and dance to BritBeat and see MedEx’s newest concept ambulance.
