AUTOMOTIVE CAREER DAY FOR STUDENTS RETURNS TO 2025 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

The Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA), producers of the Chicago Auto Show, will host “Driving Future Leaders: Automotive Career Day” at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Now in its second year, this educational event is geared towards students, primarily in secondary education, and aims to highlight the vast career opportunities available across the dynamic auto industry.

Programming, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature engaging speakers from a variety of backgrounds within the auto industry. A special ticket price of $10 will be granted to Automotive Career Day attendees; pre-registration is required.

“The 2024 Automotive Career Day was successful in its first year, and we hope to increase student participation this year while providing a unique opportunity for students to engage in this fun and educational event,” said Chicago Auto Show General Manager Jennifer Morand. “The Chicago Auto Show serves as the perfect venue to introduce students to all of the possibilities in an automotive career.”

The program will include a panel discussion with automotive representatives Aaron Steffen, technical support engineer and STEP training program instructor at BMW and Erica Tsypin, director of fleet solutions and strategic programs at Rivian. The program includes insight from student-led engineering organizations Illini Solar Car Team, Illini EV Concept and the Society of Engineers at UIC. In addition, Nikolas Borrego, wheeled vehicle mechanic with the U.S. Army, will round out the panel discussion.
Following the discussion, attending students will have the opportunity to connect and interact with the panelists to learn more about a wide range of career opportunities and ways to get involved in the automotive industry.

Official sponsors for the 2025 Automotive Career Day include Powering Chicago, Rivian and U.S. Army.
