Posted by: Ryan Young

Although SUVs and crossovers have been on the rise in recent years, mid-sized sedans have always been a popular option for many years for consumers. Consumers have relied on mid-sized sedans for commuting to work, hauling the kids around town, and that spontaneous road trip to where ever. Very few vehicles are able to balance space, comfort, fuel-economy, and performance as well as a mid-sized sedan. These cars come fully equipped with options like push-to-start, heated front seats, and USB ports. But its went you get into the detail of each car, that is where you will notice which ones excel.

Toyota Camry XSE
At $29,000, the lowest price in my top five, it is easy to see why both consumers and experts are turning heads to see this visually stunning car. With the best fuel mileage of my top 5 at 28 city, 39 highway, with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine and 8 speed automatic transmission, this car has both power and fuel efficiency that almost every consumer is looking for. Features include Toyota Safety Sense, a 3 mode drive switch (ECO, normal, sport), paddle shifters when in manual, heads up display, bird’s eye view camera, and on-board Wi-Fi and wireless charging. With what seems to be all the bells and whistles, this one lands in my top spot.

Honda Accord Touring
Coming in with a price of $33,800, the all new Honda Accord Touring really stepped it’s game up from previous years with all-new features like the heads-up display, and a best in class 16.7 cubic feet trunk, for the golfers out there like me, it can easily fit four sets of golf clubs so it looks like you will be the one driving to the next tee time. With mileage of 29 city and 35 highway in a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, the Accord Touring can do any road trip and then some. Other features include Honda Sensing, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, paddle shifters for manual use, on board Wi-Fi and wireless charging giving the Accord Touring the number two spot.

Chevy Malibu Premier
The new Chevy Malibu Premier coming in at $31,020 is one of the safest mid-sized sedans on the road this year will 11 active safety technologies that come standard on every Malibu, including adaptive cruise control, lane changing alert, and rear cross traffic alert. This Malibu also has Chevy’s new Teen Driver Report where parents can set maximum speeds before their teens even get on the road, and once the teen returns home, the parents can view the report of how their teens did on the road. Along with the Camry and Accord, the Malibu also includes on board Wi-Fi and wireless charging. With a MPG of 22 city and 32 highway in a 2.0L 4-cylinder, this one lands third on my list.

Nissan Altima 2.5 SL
The new 2018 Altima comes in at the second lowest price in my top 5 by a mere 100 hundred dollars. This car is all around very well build with a sleek design in white with blacked out rims, grill, and windows, and mpg of 27 city and 38 highway in a 2.5L 4-cylinder. Not only does it have the exterior handled pretty well, but the interior comes equipped with a heated steering wheel, paddle shifters when switched to manual, and an auto-dimming rear view mirror. Some additional technology features in the Altima include rear and front sonar systems and intelligent cruise control. All together, the Altima is a solid option that won’t have you feeling left short in design, technology, or performance.

Mazda 6 Grand Touring
The all new Mazda 6 comes with a completely redesigned leather interior that includes a new front seat design, steering wheel design, and center console. It also has an 11 speaker Bose surround sound system. The exterior is restyled as well.
