Mazda Drive for Good Program Returns

Posted by: Jennifer Morand

Now through Oct. 28, Mazda and NBCUniversal are encouraging people to nominate an organization or individual who is influential in helping their community and that could benefit from heightened awareness and a donation. Mazda and NBC have partnered again for the Mazda Drive for Good program to help one nonprofit organization with a $30,000 in-kind contribution and marketing support.

Now in its third year, the Mazda Drive for Good program has donated more than $7.9 million to local charities. The manufacturer will again work with four national charities and more than 40 local charities, all of which will be announced at a later date. For every new Mazda sold or leased between Nov. 23, 2015, and Jan. 4, 2016, Mazda will donate $150 to a local charity of the consumer’s choice or, if not indicated, to one of the national charities.

In addition, for every new car sold or leased during that timeframe, Mazda will pledge one hour of charitable service to be paid back in 2016. Over the past two years, Mazda donated more than 120,000 volunteer hours to charities in need through its corporate dealer and partner employees.

Minnie Driver is the face of this year’s Drive for Good campaign, and the winning organization or individual will learn they’re the winner via an in-person greeting by Driver. To be recognized for their award and good will, the winner will also be invited to attend the annual Rockefeller Tree Lighting ceremony, broadcasted by NBC, on Dec. 2. With this program, Mazda hopes to shed light on the positivity that groups and individuals bring to their communities.
