Jeep and Ram Blaze the Trail

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) took MAMA members on a wild ride this past week at the Midwest Automotive Media Association Fall Rally. Sponsored by Jeep, off-road experts set up a track winding through a large patch of lush forest within the confines of the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet. Participants could choose from several vehicles, including the Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and the Renegade Trailhawk.
The Renegade Trailhawk proved its off-road ability moving with ease across uneven terrain and navigating close quarters. With features such as the Active Drive Low 4x4 system with 20:1 crawl ratio and the class-exclusive Selec-Terrain dial the Trailhawk is capable of climbing incredibly steep landscape and maneuvering through many rough conditions. It's rating in Kelley Blue Book's "10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000" further boosts the reputation of this rebel.
Similarly, the Cherokee features the advanced 4x4 system and offers three separate selections for ultimate customer satisfaction. The 2016 model features a new CommandView dual-pane sunroof providing outdoor enthusiasts a breath of fresh air. Nonetheless, the sculpted and aerodynamic exterior of the Cherokee speaks for itself.
MAMA journalists had a blast kicking the dust up with RAM trucks as well on a dirt trail and carefully maneuvering Jeeps through muddy waters (check out this picture from the Chicago Tribune) and windy, hilly terrain through the thick of the woods.
