First Impressions Mean Everything

Posted by: Shelby Duitsman

One week ago today I would have never been able to describe what an auto show looked like. I have never been to an auto show before and I honestly couldn’t have ever imagined what I saw when I walked through the doors of the McCormick Place today.

I was astounded immediately by the sheer size of this show. I knew that the Chicago Auto Show was the largest auto show in the nation; however, in my wildest imagination I wouldn’t be able to understand how truly impressive it looks when you have hundreds of cars on display in one building. The manufacturers’ displays are massive and so well planned and thought out.

I was also surprised about how family friendly the Chicago Auto Show is. People of all ages truly enjoy their experiences at the Chicago Auto Show. I was shocked by the sheer amount of kid-friendly activities that the show and the manufacturers offer! From doing “the wave” and talking to the Ford robot, Hank, to taking pictures with the Kia Soul Hamsters, kids are never bored at the show. The show’s appeal extends beyond children however. People of all ages can spend hours at the show experiencing the various manufacturing companies. You can try out your driving ability at the Jeep and Toyota test tracks or question the manufacture representatives about the vehicles on display.

I am sure that I am in for plenty more surprises during my time at the Chicago Auto Show. I am sure that I will see something new every day on the show floor and I can’t wait to continue interacting with the guests on the show floor!
