Chicago Auto Show World Introductions Shine at MAMA Rally

Four of the 20 world introductions from the 2016 Chicago Auto Show are hitting showrooms this month and they were on hand for the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) Fall Rally this past week. This Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport, Nissan Armada, Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and Infiniti Q50 were among the 75 vehicles available for journalists to evaluate.

Armada, a full-size sport-utility vehicle, was introduced with much fanfare on the evening prior to the media preview for the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. Nissan's largest SUV, the 2017 Armada boasts all-new exterior and interior styling, a more powerful 390-horsepower V8 and enhanced safety and convenience features - including forward-collision warning, blind-spot intervention, backup-collision intervention and around-view monitor. The Armada is on sale now at Nissan dealerships across Chicagoland with a starting price of $44,400.

Hyundai took the wraps off freshened Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport models during the media preview for the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. Both are midsize crossover SUVs. The Santa Fe seats seven while the shorter Santa Fe Sport seats five. Enhancements for 2017 include fresh exterior styling featuring LED lighting, additional convenience and safety technologies and the addition of "Drive Mode" with Sport, Normal and Eco settings. Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport went on sale this summer and start as low as $30,800 and $25,350, respectively.

Bounding onto Toyota's stage during the 2016 Chicago Auto Show media preview was the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. Aimed squarely at extreme off-roading enthusiasts, the Tacoma TRD Pro features factory-installed off-road equipment designed by the experts at Toyota Racing Development. Special features include 16-inch black alloy wheels with Kevlar-reinforced tires, aluminum front skid plate, LED fog lights, projector-beam headlights, LED Daytime Running Lights and TRD-tuned front and rear suspension. The Tacoma TRD Pro is on sale now with a starting price of $40,760.

The Q50 Red Sport 400 was one of three new Q50 sport sedan offerings Infiniti unveiled at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. The Q50 is a midsize, four-door luxury-sport sedan that seats five. Specifically, the Q50 Red Sport 400 is powered by a 400-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine. The Q50 is also available with a 300-horsepower V6 and 208-horsepower four-cylinder. The 2017 Q50 Red Sport 400 has a base price of $48,700 and is on sale now.
