Chicago Auto Show Gives Media Sneak Peek of the 2018 First Look for Charity Gala
Chicago Auto Show organizers gave Chicago media a sneak peek of the forthcoming First Look for Charity black-tie gala (to be held on Feb. 9) last week, Thurs. Jan. 11 at McGrath Acura of downtown Chicago.
Chicago’s top media outlets including ABC 7, Windy City Live, NBC 5, and leading social media influencers were present for the food tasting and preview event capturing and reporting on the buzz-worthy moments. Local restaurants and caterers such as Catered by Design, Real Urban BBQ, and Savor…Chicago all showcased culinary creations for guests to enjoy. Social media reflected the excitement of the event as content about the tasting and preview surfaced online.
Chicago Auto Show Chairman John Hennessy welcomed guests and announced that a 2018 Ford Mustang or 2018 Ford Expedition will be given away during the black-tie gala, both compliments of Ford Motor Co. & the Chicagoland Ford Dealers Association. Guests are eligible to win just by purchasing a ticket to the event. Hennessy also introduced the official First Look for Charity video to highlight the benefitting charities and the true meaning behind the social event.
The 2018 First Look for Charity gala will be held on Friday, Feb. 9 where guests are invited to take a first look at the Chicago Auto Show’s 1,000+ vehicles while raising money for 18 local charities in the Chicagoland area. The Chicago Auto Show’s black-tie gala raised a record-setting $3 million in 2017, totaling more than $48 million since its foundation in 1992. On average, this annual event raises $2.5 million for local charities.
Additional highlights: the event will feature 50 food stations featuring cuisine from all around the world for guests as 140 chefs and 400 banquet staff assist the event. There will be 30 menu items available, spanning international concepts, totaling 60,000 bites.
