ANDY'S FROZEN CUSTARD DONATES TREATS TO CHICAGO AUTO SHOW'S 'FIRST LOOK FOR CHARITY' EVENT

Andy's Frozen Custard(www.eatandys.com), the beloved frozen dessert business providing the freshest frozen custard in the industry, today announced it will serve guests at the Chicago Auto Show's 29th Annual First Look for Charity (FLFC) Event on Friday, Feb. 7th.

Offering a delectable Sundae Bar featuring Made Fresh Hourly(tm) creamy vanilla frozen custard and featuring a variety of toppings for rich, thick and decadent treat combinations, Andy's will provide more than 4,500 treats at the charity event from 7:00-11:00 p.m. at McCormick Place Convention Center.

"As our biggest Andy's Frozen Custard market nationwide, Chicago is near and dear to us-and First Look for Charity represents our largest individual philanthropic effort each year," said Andy's Frozen Custard President and Owner Andy. "We're thrilled to be participating for our ninth consecutive year, as FLFC is perfectly-aligned with our focus on serving our communities and supporting those in-need."

First Look for Charity at the Nation's Largest Auto Show
As a black-tie gala offering the public the first chance to see the industry's latest cars, trucks and SUVs while sampling delicious treats, fine fare and cocktails, First Look for Charity is one of Chicago's greatest single-day fundraisers-each year generating millions of dollars in funds for 18 benefiting charities in the Chicago area on the night before the nation's largest auto show officially opens to the public.

With a long local history, Andy's opened its first Chicago store nearly 15 years ago. As a longtime FLFC sponsor, the company's participation requires deep commitment from 16 employees and regional management/staff coming from all 13 area stores-in Mt. Prospect, Evanston, Burbank, Oak Lawn, Countryside, Oswego, Glen Ellyn, Elgin, Orland Park, Bolingbrook (x2) and Naperville (x2).  The 16 local employees and regional management/staff dedicate 200+ hours of time.

Andy's Frozen Custard namesake, Owner and President Andy Kuntz furthers that commitment each year by personally-delivering a custom-made, continuously-pumping and precisely-churning proprietary frozen custard machine to the show-driving more than 500 miles from headquarters in Springfield, MO to Chicago for the event.

Using the exact same frozen custard machine featured in its stores, the company essentially creates an Andy's 'Mini-Frozen Custard Shop' inside the Center. In total, the company and its partners' commitment is nearly $25,000 each year with more than $225,000 of estimated in-kind donations made over the past nine years.

Generous Support from Andy's Local and Regional Partners
Additionally, Andy's also receives generous support through its longtime relationships with local Chicago-area and regional suppliers to ensure the finest blend of ingredients are provided for the delectable Sundae Bar treats served at the event. Donations from companies include:

  • Premium local micro-dairy provider Meadowvale donates 150-gallons of specially-made and locally-sourced Andy's Frozen Custard custard mix, featuring hormone r-BST-free milk.
  • Chicago-area based specialty distributor Fox Valley Farms  donates 150 pounds of fresh strawberries, six gallons of maraschino cherries, 60 pounds of M&Ms and 6,000 serving cups;
  • Chicago-area nut provider Nida Trading Company donates 90-pounds of premium pecans;
  • Wisconsin-based sweet and savory food supplier Masterson Foods donates 200+ pounds of delicious hot fudge sauce;
  • Chicago-area based equipment supplier KECdesign donates serving bowls; and
  • Workwear provider Cintas donates t-shirts and uniforms for Andy's Frozen Custard employees.

"We are incredibly thankful to work with such a wonderful group of longtime local partners who share our dedication to supporting the well-deserving organizations who benefit from FLFC," continued Kuntz. "Andy's has focused on serving our communities since we were founded more than 30 years ago - and we love that these companies join us in our desire to give-back."

Focus on Philanthropy: Supporting Chicago Area Organizations
In addition to FLFC, Andy's regularly supports numerous Chicago-area organizations, including contributing to annual events for The H Foundation (supporting cancer research); sponsoring the Heart Haven Outreach Annual Golf Outing (dedicated to transforming lives of struggling teens); and donating 2,000+ sundaes to the Naperville Jaycees Annual 'Last Fling' (for local charities).

At the Chicago Auto Show, this year Andy's will also serve treats during the 2020 'Media Preview' portion of the event-including on Thurs., Feb. 6th from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and during the Social Media Preview on Fri., Feb. 7th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:45 p.m., before the First Look for Charity event begins that evening.
